The invoice was dated 17th September !! 6 weeks after the failure !! There was a full breakdown for repairs totalling guess what.2800 Euros! I can t see that they would have the vehicle off the road for 6 weeks! I finally managed to get an invoice from OK RENT A CAR on 15th Nov. ( My son who is a mechanic later told me it was likely just air in the Hydraulics).

They were rude to me & told me I had to pay 2800 Euros plus 250 Euros for Tow truck. ( It takes 2 + hrs to diagnose Clutch failure). Next morning I was towed back to the rental office and within 30 minutes told the Clutch was broken !! On a vehicle with only 7488 KMS covered. 3 days after hiring the vehicle and having only done 100 Kms She went to drive away & couldn't select gear initially & manage to drive back to our Hotel in 1 gear ( There was no sign of Clutch slippage or trouble getting into gear prior to this). We hired a Renault Traffic minibus on 25th July this year and my wife went to the airport at 3am to collect a family member. Hope it is just my one time experience.ĭisgusting company. I believe here is a trick - probably after that if the tank is not completely full it will show the real level of fuel and customer will have to pay much more extra.

When I returned the car the staff switched on and off the car for 3 times in order to check the fuel level. I tried few times more and finally I filled in 15 ltr of fuel. The bensin pistol switched of automatically after 3 ltr and I thought that the tank is full. It would be pitty if indicator would show less then full as you arrive to airport, so I decided to fill a bit of fuel. I didn't drive too much, so after 3 days it indicated that car still have full fuel tank. But there is another thing is to be aware off. So I don't know why I choosed OK car rental. The price was exactly the same as with some other companies. I always buy full insurance - people parking in Spain don't care about your car. No problem with shuttle, fine service at desk, car as ordered. Looket that way, 350 euros is just a training investment for future years of hassle-free renting better luck next time I've never had to claim, but a mate who got a bad scape on a new Budget rental in a car park did and it was simple to get his 250 Euros back. I pay under 50 Euros a year for annual multi-trip peace of mind from Insurance4carhire. for less than a tenth of what the hard-pressed rental desk jockeys are told they have to hassle you into buying as they are ordered to pressure sell it. buy freestanding "excess" insurance cover online, prior to travel. and/or use reputable companies who are often cheaper in the long run I have never been ripped off by HERTZ or AVIS/BUDGET in over 50 rentals no fuelling scams, fake bodywork/ tyre/ glass/ wheelrim or underbody damage deductions. And if you join their loyalty schemes (free) you'll often get an upgrade. check reviews BEFORE clicking book, rather than adding bad reviews after you've joined the sad queue of unhappy mugs So as has been said hundreds of times or more A sad lesson learned, but at least it only cost you 350 if you read the reviews of this and other "cheap" Spanish car rental companies, you'll see thousands of complaints and many more expensively damaging hard luck stories (Goldcar get quarter of a million crits on google tens of thousands of them here on TripAdvisor!).
